In a perfect world, Google would understand that often, agencies create reports for their clients, then need to hand over access and usually management of those reports. For some reason, this is much more difficult than it should be for those of us who don’t have G Suite Premium access.
The workaround is to share the report with your client, and get them to copy the report and connect up to it using the same data sources. Instructions below!
In Google Data Studio
- Open your report
- Click to make a copy

- The dialog box will appear prompting a new data source. Click Create New Data Source
- Select the Google Analytics data source

- Choose your Account, Property, and View
- Click Connect in the top right

- Click Add to Report in the top right (this just adds in all the available fields)

- Click Copy Report on the dialog box that appears
- The report will populate with the data
- Ensure you change the report name to remove “Copy of”
